SAMTRAC and NOSA continue to expand its global footprint through two recent training partnerships with international corporations – DHL and BIC. These partnerships further demonstrate the global demand for NOSA’s products and services, and the recognition by multinational companies of how NOSA’s contribution enhances the overall quality and value of the organisations’ own risk management processes.
Over the least four years, NOSA has trained DHL students on SAMTRAC E-learning, in all six languages offered and across multiple countries, including Europe, Asia, the Americas and Australia. Emlyn Jones (Global Head Operational HSSE at DHL Global Forwarding), requested NOSA’s assistance with in-house training for its senior management team, using SAMTRAC E-learning’s Module 1. Through this interaction, NOSA indicated additional courses appropriate for DHL management – specifically its Safety for Senior Executives course. Together with DHL, NOSA integrated its course with elements from DHL’s HSE management system, to create a one-day HSE Safety for Senior Executives training course. This course was delivered with great success in London, by Leanne Franks, to approximately 17 members of the DHL Industrial Projects management team.
‘DHL Industrial Projects Senior Management team [has taken] the next step on the continuous journey to achieve ZERO harm. In keeping with our principle of continuous improvement, the entire DHL IP SMT attended an HSE training course specifically designed and delivered by NOSA, a leading HSE training provider. We looked specifically at our HSE management system and the hazard risks associated with the projects logistics industry and reinforced our commitment to leading by example when it comes to HSE. ZERO harm – ZERO compromise. Well done team!’
- CEO, Nikola Hagleitner
NOSA’s relationship with BIC traces back to training it initially conducted with the Thales Group, in collaboration with its HSE Manager, Sebastien Chaigneau. When Sebastien left the Group he assumed the role of HSE Manager at BIC, where he introduced SAMTRAC E-Learning as a training requirement and company standard for all incoming HSE Managers across the company’s global operations. Further to this, BIC’s annual health and safety HSE Management Team Conference for its plant managers took place at its Roodepoort plant this year, where NOSA conducted a risk-based auditing workshop. NOSA adapted its course to incorporate BIC’s own standards and systems, and then proceeded with the course. The two-day workshop was a great success, with the feedback highlighting the benefit of the practical, hands-on experience it provided.
Sebastien is currently reviewing NOSA’s Five-Star Integrated System, with the potential to upgrade BIC’s current health and safety management system to align it to the NOSA system.
‘BIC has selected NOSA to train its internal auditors on risk-based audits. The workshop took place in our factory in Johannesburg and all participants from various continents were very satisfied. The trainer had a strong field experience in OHS and adapted very well to this multi-cultural audience. Leaving the workshop, attendees feel confident to audit other plants within BIC.’
- HSE Manager, Sebastien Chaigneau
